Frequently Asked Questions about “Kyari”:
  1. What is “Kyari”: “Kyari” is a collective effort. It is a group of individuals belonging to the District of Karauli in the State of Rajasthan in country India. “Kyari” is a knowledge-base of ideas and “Kyari” members exchange ideas and execute tasks based on its agenda. All the members of Kyari are like a family and in fact we all living/non-living beings in this world belong to one family. Today’s educated youth is a power-house who conceptualizes/manages big/small projects in their professional life. The same youth can take up small “Kyari” tasks and accomplish them and give back to its roots.
  2. Who started it: The idea of “Kyari” was conceptualized by Himanshu and Kalpana sharma around July 2005 in New Jersey, USA.
  3. Who is in-charge or president of Kyari:Nobody is head or in-charge or President of Kyari. Kyari's sole aim is to do self-less social service at the grass-root level in villages/cities, schools/colleges, etc. Anybody is free to take charge of a colony or school and find out tasks and lead.
  4. Is “Kyari” an NGO (Non-governmental Organization) or GO (Governmental Organization) or a Government entity or a political party: “Kyari” is neither an NGO, GO, Government body nor a political party. It is a group of individuals who are mainly educated intellectuals living in or outside of Karauli (Rajasthan, India). It is not affiliated to any NGO, GO or political party. It doesn’t endorse any specific political party. Its sole objective is to do unbiased social service for the people of “Karauli”, caste/religion/sect/age no bar in education and environment. But “Kyari” will be more than happy to work with other organizations for social service.
  5. Does “Kyari” take donations? How does it fund its projects: Currently “Kyari” doesn’t take any donations from anybody. Nobody is authorized to collect donations on behalf of “Kyari”. “Kyari” members themselves select projects and accomplish (fund/manage/monitor) them. “Kyari” stresses on individual’s contribution to the society in whatever way possible (ideas/physical/financial). More than one “Kyari” members join together can accomplish tasks which are resource intensive. Besides this, currently “Kyari” doesn’t have resources to collect/manage/audit monetary donation from individuals/organizations/governments etc. There are many NGOs in India (India currently has 30,000+ registered NGOs) who accept millions in donations but it is hard to see a society getting benefited by them in real sense. "Kyari" believes that the money is not answer to problems of small cities. "Kyari" wants to make sure that the person who is donating money is seriously interested in social service and participate in actual social work. Each member of society must come-up and do his part to serve the society where he was born-brought up.
  6. How can I donate money to Kyari: If anybody wants to donate money to Kyari, (s)he should have clear idea where the fund should be spent and (s)he should participate in “Kyari” to manage/monitor/execute the work. "Kyari" will facilitate a direct contact between donator and actual doers on site and then donator is expected to participate actively in monitoring/accomplishing the task.
  7. Who can join in Kyari: Though “Kyari” was formed by individuals from Karauli, anybody can come and help people of Karauli on the guidelines of “Kyari” agenda. There is no membership fee. Website www.kalakari.com/kyari and yahoo-group http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/kyari/ provide a platform to exchange ideas, conceptualize projects and execute them. Anybody can give ideas on various issues like education, environment, employment, self-sustainable programs, etc.
  8. Why “Kyari” works only in District of Karauli: Kyari believes in concentrating its resources at one place and show that it works. Then, similar models can be implemented in other area by other people. It’s more effective to work for your family and nearest society rather than vaguely working for the whole country. It gives oneself some accountability, counter-check and inspiration to keep doing. Otherwise vague social service efforts initiated out of impulse are difficult to sustain. Over all, “Kyari” works for creating better ethics in younger generation so that they can become better adult citizen and help society and environment.
  9. I do social service on other lines or I am not from Karauli:Kyari will try its best to help you without asking anything in return. You can also implement Kyari in your area using our expereinces.
  10. How to contact “Kyari”: The best way is to sign “GuestBook” with your contact details and a “Kyari” team member will contact you as soon as possible.

To do a self-less service to society is our responsibility.
